Develop Housing with Residents in Mind

I'll push development partners to offer a balanced mix of housing options including detached homes, townhomes, duplexes, triplexes and high-rise towers to create inclusive communities. By developing from all areas of the Housing Spectrum we can ensure that residents at all stages of life have a home in Ward 5.

I'll focus on intentional development that integrates housing, public transit and commercial spaces by aligning growth with reliable transportation corridors and existing municipal services.

Green Space Preservation and Development

Parks, Trails, Paths and Playgrounds

Green spaces are integral to the health of our citizens and the quality of life within our city. Urban parks, trails and natural corridors serve as critical infrastructure that reduce urban heat, help manage storm runoff and protect biodiversity, while also promoting an active lifestyle that helps to reduce stress and encourages neighbourly interaction.

My goal is conscious investment in preservation and expansion of green space to ensure community growth will not come at the expense of residents' quality of life.

Fiscal Responsibility

Responsible Spending and Reporting

Fiscal responsibility and transparent reporting are the foundation of effective governance. Relying directly on property tax and user fees to fund operations means every dollar must be spent to deliver clear value to the community.

I'll push financial stewardship that balances annual budgets, maintains an appropriate reserve and prioritizes long-term capital investments (water systems, roads etc.) while committing to clear, accessible reporting. I'll work on building resident trust via publishing easy to read budget summaries and key performance metrics.
